I have a new Denon 3805 and I'm now trying to figure out the right set of Axioms to go with it (done some research and think its the right match). Main use is 70% Home Theater (7.1), 25% Music, and 5% Karaoke. Listening area is 20x13x8 (part of 40x13x8 room tied to kitchen).

Stereo/TV will be located at a 45 degree angle in the corner with 13 foot separation to opposite wall and 40 feet to far wall. Left/Right Speakers will have 4.5 foot separation.

Axiom Recommends Home Theater Wizard (with some tweaking):
VP150
M3
EP350
QS4 (4)

Q1) Should I swap the recommended M3's for the M22's due to the actual larger room size?

Q2) I can't run the QS8's so I need to go with the smaller QS4's. Am I losing Much?

Q3) Are QS4's a mismatch for the M22's?

Q4) The QS4's will be mounted near the ceiling, how much separation should they have?

thanks...

1. What is the distance from mains to seating position ?

2. When you say "you can't run QS8s" is that due to budget, size, weight, religious convictions, impedence... ?

Viewing/listening area is 11 ft. min to 20-30 ft. max. Core viewing/listening is 15 ft.

QS8 != wife

Whoa... I would be thinking M22s for sure.

Are M2s for the rears a possibility ?

Riley, welcome. 1)Yes, in my view, go with the M22s; 2)QS4s should be quite enough; 3)as surrounds they'll match the M22s as closely as they need to; 4) not sure what separation that you're referring to. The side surrounds should be opposite the sitting position and at least a few feet away. The back surrounds should be at least a few feet behind the sitting position and separated widely enough so that they're outside the edges of the couch or whatever.

Your suggested separation of 4.5' for the front speakers isn't enough. They should be separated about as much as your sitting distance, if possible, even if it means moving them out farther in front of the TV.

Definitely M22, it is a better speaker with a sub. The M3 is recommended for use without a sub.

Doubtful on the M2's. Size has been a challenging constraint in the speaker search. I made a model of the QS4's and left it on the wall for a week... If I didn't have size constraints I'd probably look at M&K's.

Thanks for the advice on the M22's. I can't wait to hear this setup.
