Hello all again! it's been forever since I posted. It looks like I have 1220 new msgs in this forum to catch up on =)

I moved into an 80 yr old house with an unfinished basement, so that's been keeping me busy lately. It will be my dedicated (although modest) home theater.

Here are a few pics so far:

Despite how it looks, the walls are actually straight. Everything else is just so outta wack =)

Here is what is going in there:

I got a pull down Da-Lite Screen I will use instead of my DIY that I loved. It got ripped in the move.

Now comes my question, I am looking for speaker cable to run behind the walls. Any suggestions? I am not looking for "audiophile". Just something that will get the job done. (I'm not a huge fan of $1000 cables, but thats another topic)

Home Depot or Lowes has a good selection of good inexpensive speaker cable.
Your photo links are not working. Before the url you need [image] and after you need [/image]

Well........ They were'nt working the first time I looked at them.

i can see the pics, just took them a few seconds to load up.

bray is right on.. just go to home depot and get the 12/14 gauge speaker wire at .30 cents a foot. that will work fine for what you need.

That looks exactly like what I got at Home Depot, and it'll work fine.

I have heard people that are happy with this wire... Nordost CinemaFlex
It is a flat wire meant for behind walls. I think its around $3.79 a foot. I only did not go with it because my wire is out in the open so I am going with DH-Lab T14 ($3.69/foot) wire on my Axioms and DH-Lab Q10 ($10/foot)on my VMPS subwoofer. I hear a difference in wire unlike others, so this is my two cents. I would also recomend installing a seperate electrical wire to your source outlet on it own 20amp fuse, put a Hubbell Hospital grade plug in, and upgrade all you components Power chords as well. I did all the above and it made my Axioms sound better then ever! I can not wait to change my wire to the DH wire, just have to wait to get paid.

Hubbell Hospital grade plugs just have greater grip strength so nurses don't kick out plugs. Alan weighs in on boutique AC cords here.

As for the component power chords... hey, man... a 7th is a 7th.

-2--5--7--2--5--8--7-
-0--3--5--0--3--6--5-

(for those who don't get the joke - that's guitar tablature for Deep Purple's Smoke on the Water - played with power chords)

I knew that. Tablature wasw my friend ... back in the day. Reminds me that I really need to pick up that guitar again, and at least play for my son.
