They do make soft, plastic caps that fit over cats claws to prevent them from scratching things. They are glued on and can be removed.

Our cat is now home.
She is fine.
No signs of pain and just happy to be back i think.
I'm sure the drugs are helping our 'happy' cat.
Now if i can just get the bathroom finished...
