My Snell Type K/II speakers are in the shop to have the foam surrounds replaced. After nearly 15 years the foam has completely dry rotted.
I've heard a couple of people say that after having their foam replaced, the speakers didn't sound nearly as good. Fearing this, I visited the Snell website and see that they offer replacement drivers for the Type K/II speakers. (Shocking considering they stopped making the K/II ten years ago!)
The catch is, they're $120 EACH.
Does that not seem a wee bit high? Or am I just a cheap s.o.b.?

Can't it be both?

Got them back on Saturday and had to solder the connections back myself. Having never soldered anything before it was a tad exciting. (Especially without a work bench, and only two hands.) But I got through it, and am happy to report they sound terrific.
