It's not about speakers, whether amps sound different or the merits of cables.

It is, simply, a self-indulgent "fun" poll that really means nothing. But... I'm curious:

Should MarkSJohnson change his frequently-taunted Avatar to a "proper" photo?

Actually, that's what's kind of funny...I'm not at all like that. Really, I'm a twenty-something wild guy stuck in a forty-something "always has to be professional" person!

I voted yes, but not because "those crazy eyes really scare me." I just want to see what you really look like. That'll probably scare me more than the current photo does!

I wanted to check more than one box.

Use whatever makes you feel smart and happy, Mark. I tried using pictures of my kids for a while, but they don't appear, I don't know, pithy like Peter's boy, so I felt funny when I posted. I don't always want to feel funny anymore. But that's another thread.

I don't know, Peter. It's just that the wonderful pictures you have always make Steven look like he has something to say. The pictures of my kids just look so one-dimensional. You know, "I just spilled jam on my shirt. Isn't that great!?!". Maybe it's an age thing. Or maybe familiarity breeds contempt. I'm not saying this very well, but what I meant was, I've enjoyed and appreciated your use of your son's pictures in your avatar, but found that my efforts to do likewise were somehow unsatisfying.

And Mark's bugeyes are beginning to ... bug me.

I'm pretty sure it's an age thing. As they get older, they gain conscious control over their facial muscles and all attempts at candid photography are foiled.

I dunno, Tom. You have two absolutely beautiful children. I assume they take after their mother.

Tom, don't change your avatar! I love that one!

...and if you want to see a real picture of Mark, he should post it here.

186 (as of 11PM) have read this post, but only 40 voted?

This is what's wrong with America! Don't you people know that in other countries, they would give their very lives for the right to vote on my avatar???

Apathy! Apathy! It will be our downfall!

Jack, you're too kind. And yes, they do. John Hiatt (Georgia Rae) - lucky for you child, you look like your mama.

Craig, thanks. I prefer your current avatar, too. The "Classic" Mr. Bear.

Mark, I voted again from home. Feels just like Chicago.

I'm still on the fence and waiting for the mudslinging to commence.

You're right! You're right!! I've read this post three times now just to see what's what, but I've only voted once!

Soooo.....

Nah....once was enough!
One can stand only so much fun in one day!!

if we voted more than once, it would give 'false' results. i have been in the thread like 3-4 times, so it registers a "view" everytime, but i have only voted once.

it is important that we use the proper diplomatic process. so when does the lying, cheating, and stealing begin....?
