I am still finalizing some decisions and the front runner is still Axiom. I am looking at Rockets and Studios as well.

A concern is for the rear speaker placement. I have three places to potentially mount these speakers:

1) 7 ft high on side wall and open beam on other side.
2) Side wall but at least 5 ft behind listen, no height constraints
3) rear wall, 7 ft behind, could use 1/3 measurements

I would like to have the null directly next to listener, however 7 ft high seems too high. One midrange firing on listener and the other 6 inches from ceiling.

Does anyone use either of these placements?

Setup includes Elite 53", Onkyo 700 & Denon 1600. A new SVS will most likely accompany this.

Six to seven feet is actually the ideal placement for a surround speaker assuming normal listening heights in a chair. Six inches from the ceiling is a little short but these speakers are forgiving so it shouldn't be a problem. I'd go with that.

My three QS8's are less than six inches from the ceiling and they sound just fine. I had the chance to experiment with more clearance, but a more uniform clearance for the three worked better.
