I know many people are looking to demo Axiom speakers, so I just thought I would throw it out there that if anyone passes through Vegas, drop me a line. Its a 7.1 setup with M60's, QS8's and VP150.

I didn't demo the speakers before I bought them, but I decided to take advantage of Axiom's 30-day return policy. And obviously, I loved the speakers so I kept em!

The receiver is a Denon 3805 and the sub is an SVS.

Thanks!

Gary, aka VegasVec

Hey Gary, are you on the audition list in the questions and comments forum? If not send a quick email to the axiom staff and they'll set you right up.

I don't care about auditioning the speakers but can I crash at your place next time in town? LOL, just kidding (unless you have a pool).

Did someone say pool? Jeeez, I was just in Henderson. I have family in Vegas. My In-laws are actually there at the moment for 6 weeks.

Gary, I have the same setup that you do. What setting do you use for DVD's? Dolby digital IIX for best sound or the 5/7 channel set up. Any different setup for music? I'm trying different ones and am not sure yet. The 5/7 channel setting seems to bring more "enveloping" sound but not the best "surround" feel. (like the sound of a bee moving across the speakers as it fly's by the main character). I just wanted to know what settings you use for DVD's and if they are different for CD's ets

Divot,

I haven't played around much with the settings, but on AVS forums someone told me to set it to matrix. That runs the both rear and side speakers at the same time...sounds pretty good, but still not true 7.1.

I haven't tried CD's yet...any you can recommend?

I have the AVIA callibration DVD and haven't broken that open yet...does it have 7.1 testing? Any suggestions for good DVD's that utilize a 7.1 sound and dmeonstrate its capabilities?

Thanks...

Avia calibration disk works well but I've ony used it for my video setup. For the audio calibration, I've used the auto setup that the Denon has built in. It seems like its pretty good, but some swear by the spl meters. I guess all the different sound fields the Denon is capable of using is confusing. I do have a 7.1 speaker set up. I don't know, just interested in your experience or anyone elses for that matter.

Vegas...Hmmm sound like a great trip in Jan/Feb, gettin a little toasty yet?
