I know. It was due to a list you posted here that I first tried Calamus.

What is the Showcase Outlier Gewurztraminer like? Sounds intriguing.

Funny you mention that wine because that was one of my personal favorites during our last escapade. I thought it was amazing! That wine wasn't available at the Trius main tasting bar or available for sale on the shelf that day. We had to go to an upstairs section at Trius where a special tasting was going on to try it and purchase it.

I think we have similar tastes when it comes to wine varietals wink.

I want to save that particular Gewurztraminer for when I make Korean Beef Noodles (garlic, ginger, soy, lime marinated beef, mushroom, shredded carrots with udon noodles)

I’m armed and I’m drinking. You don’t want to listen to advice from me, amigo.

Looks that way.

Thats almost identical to a recipe I make. Just add a hot pepper and snow peas.

Sounds like that Gewurz has lots of bite if it can stand up to a meal like that.

I've added Trius to my list of wineries to visit. Thanks!

Have you been to Featherstone? I think you would like that place too. 23 acres, tastings are in a 1830's farmhouse and the majority of their wines are priced between 14.95 - 19.95.

I've recently been informed about Featherstone and will have to add that to the next trip i head south.

In the meantime, i can finally look into placing some orders from out west as Manitoba has opened its border to wine importation by individuals. We can now freely order from BC as their borders have dropped for exportation legal issues.
Damn you Ontario for keeping all that great wine to yourselves.

I was at Vineland Estates for lunch last week and it would be my top recommendation for dining right now during wine tours. The meal was absolutely superb and the presentations were top notch. My main was a citrus cured Rainbow Trout. It was an amazing dish.

Sadly i'm too far away to enjoy the fruits of NotL, but i do have some moose meat coming my way this weekend!!
Will have to think about some wine pairing for a gamey heavy red meat.

You make it sound as though it was ordered on Amazon. Boy, since you guys up there will kill and eat anything with fur, what a nightmare for a sommalier.

Heading out tomorrow for a few bottles with friends.
Hopefully will have something that is worth recording of note.
