I was on another thread discussing QS-8's and crossover setting.

So I was wondering which freq. response is the one to go by?

Freq Resp +/-3db (Hz ) 95 - 22kHz

Freq Resp +3dB- 9dB (Hz) 65 - 22kHz

And maybe someone could shed some light on the differance between the two?

warfer: on the other thread, I asked for some links to "standards" because I wanted to be sure I understood what "games" the manufacturers are playing with specs these days.

If I understand the "specs-manship" properly, the 2 numbers are basically the same. The 95Hz-22kHz is contained with the spectrum of 65Hz-22kHz number. The +/- 3 dB is ripple (one frequency may be 6 dB stronger than another frequency) that you may find accross the 95Hz-22kHz spectrum. What the +3/-9 dB numbers are telling you is that the frequency response of the speaker rolls off (decreases) another 6 dB from 95Hz to 65Hz. The speaker can not handle the low frequency. It just runs out of capability.

Hope that this helps.

Thank-you Bernard,

Yes that does help.
