Hello all.
I have had a SPL meter, analog, made by RS for a long time now. However, I have not used it forever and seem to have forgotten how it should be set to accurately measure sound.

Weighting, Speeds, ETC.... The new model is somewhat updated but my version is about 5-6 years older.

Analog SPL

The link above is for the newer version...but same concept.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

For calibrating you system with the pink noise from your receiver or Avia/DVE, use C weighting, and slow speed.

A Quick Overview of Home Theater Calibration

I have an RS analog meter that is, at least, 25 years old. Seems to be working just fine. It gives me the same readings as my 1 1/2 year old RS digital meter.
