I've read a lot about these resistors and their effects. Maybe I missed this, but do these resistors reduce the volume of the tweeter through its entire frequency range? Also, at what frequency do the tweeters take over for the m22?

My room has hard wood floors and is a tad echoey. ALong with my slightly bright Yamaha amp at high levels, my system sounds painfully bright at times. So I'm thinking these resistors just might do the trick. And looking at the NRC measurements of the m22, it seems that if these resistors reduce the tweeter output by about 2db or so starting from around 1-2khz, then the speaker should be almost completely neutral in response(on axis).

Well, I read the m60 ear fatigue post again and figured out that it is uniform and there are two resistors available. I'll be giving Joe a call tomorrow.

Still curious as to what the crossover point is for the m22 though...

i really doubt the resistor makes the response more neutral. if your room causes a lot of reflection then less treble may make it seem so.

On Technical Questions, 11/20/02, Alan replied to "on crossovers..." stating that the M22 crossover was at 3.5Khz.

Hey Axiom, how about disclosing all the crossover frequencies/slopes in each model's specs? Some manufacturers do that, and I suppose that there is no trade secret there, right? That certainly better satisfies the prospective customers who are technically curious, and may well boost the sales!!!

There was a glitch in the old chart on crossover frequencies. In a meeting at Axiom with Ian Colquhoun and Peter, our engineer, we've corrected the old list. The M22ti's crossover is at 2.7 kHz (2700 Hz), the same frequency as the new M2i.
