A Year-End Sentiment for All to Read
(in iambic pentameter, no less!)

I sit before my screen this solstice day
and think upon the people that I've met
or come to know this year and years gone by.
Since life is full of comings and of goings,
some folks you meet you never meet again.
But some of these you wish you'd better known
before their path and yours became uncrossed.
'Tis for this very reason that I write
a few words of remembrance and of thanks.

I would not come here were it not for you,
the regulars, who make this place their home
online. Your knowledge helps my brain expand.
Whether it be 'bout politics or beer
or Axiom (which is really why we're here).
The fact that we don't see ourselves in flesh
does not prevent some friendships from forming.
So lift a glass and drink a toast to you,
my fellow boarders. I do love you guys!

All the best to you, Peter. And to all here who help me keep my sanity (though some may feel the issue is in doubt), and have brightened my daily routine so much, a VERY

What a wonderful post, pmbuko! For such a "manly" group, I've always felt comfortable visiting this forum. Thanks to everyone here for making it such an enjoyable experience.

I think what you said goes for us all. It says something about the people here that so many become regulars long after they've received their speakers. What starts as a place to research becomes a second home.

I am unable to pen words that better articulate the sentiments and wishes that you describe so very eloquently Peter.

The best of the holidays to all of you!

oh sure, ray, the loveable forehead, decides to hang out and visit during the winter months. and he tries to swoon us with his "sentiments that are so eloquently articulated", but then drops us like a hot potato when golf season comes back around. oh yea, he needs friends, but only when it is convient for him..
