Damn! I was living mere blocks away in '85. Too bad I had no idea who SRV was back then.

If I knew back then where ticket prices were going...

Saw Rush for $7.50. grin

An album was going for about $7 at the time.

That's a deal! When I first saw Rush in the spring of 1986, the ticket was $15, as was the t-shirt. A CD was about that much, and LPs were $10.

I saw Stevie Ray on that tour on Harriet Island, St. Paul, MN at the Riverfest Festival. He played early in the evening, opening act for the headliner Van Morrison. Ridiculously amazing shows put on by both SRV and Van the Man. After Van's show, The Call played on small stage to finish off the night. Easily one of the best nights of music in my life.

I saw SRV five times. Four were amazing; one was only pretty good because they were having issues with the sound system and I think SRV was pretty stoned.

I saw Stevie open for Joe Cocker in Hamilton Ontario about 2 weeks before he died. He was amazing, as was Joe.
