Gord, welcome. There's a bunch of receivers within that budget that'll work well with the M80s. Although problems driving them are suggested fairly often, it seems rare that someone's actually experienced a problem. The M80s in the past were often described as an "easy 4 ohm load". Pick the features that you want the most and don't be overly concerned with power ratings; all the likely candidates will have more than enough except for a really big room. Some good choices include the HK 635, Onkyo 703 and Yamaha 1600.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

Denon's will also have no problem driving the 4ohm 80's, and they should have some selections in our price range if you shop around for a good sale...

Everything above is true. All good choices. Just pick your features.

I picked up a Denon 3806 for my new Epic 80 system and it has no problem driving them with no distortion to insane volumes. I've yet to take it past +5db because it's painful, but it's still very clean.
