Its here! (Almost)

Here is a drink that's sure to please and refreshing as ever. I've never met a person who hasn't loved it -even non drinkers.

Pims Cup

Tall pint glass
1 3/4 - 2 oz Pims No.1 (usually in gin section but not really gin.)
3 slices cucumber quartered
1 can San Pellegrino Lemon Soda

Enjoy! The deck and BBQ await. (Even better by firepit.)

Share yours! smile

I know there are people here who will appreciate your suggestion, Trevor. As a former bartender and non-drinker (tasted, never consumed), I think Pims tastes like something that shouldn't even GET into your mouth. Like when you've got some sort of cleaning fluid on your hand, you accidentally touch your lip, and your brain says, "Get it out! Get it out!"

I think most Americans respond to it as they do Vegemite, or other things that induce xenophobia.

Gotta agree with your assessment on this one. I'll try almost anything once. Pims is not one I'll repeat.

I'm not really a mixed drink person any more. I'll still enjoy a well made margarita. Mostly I enjoy simpler drinks where the flavour of the main alcoholic ingredient comes through.

Really guys? Maybe I have a different take because I mix with limonata. Never tried pims straight. Cant stand straight booze, yeck!

This drink tastes like a long island iced tea with a twist to me.

Maybe that was my mistake. I tried it with soda and a twist of lemon.

"Pimm, a farmer's son from Kent, became the owner of an oyster bar in the City of London, near the Bank of England. He offered the tonic (a gin-based drink containing a secret mixture of herbs and liqueurs) as an aid to digestion, serving it in a small tankard known as a "No. 1 Cup", hence its subsequent name."

No wonder it tastes like medicine. laugh

Is that some twisted version of Texas Toast? It looks like a think slice of white bread that someone met while getting sick on too much cheddar and spinach quiche.

It's all about the laugh, Trevor, all about the laugh. Humility is overrated. On me, it looks like a cheap Canal Street counterfeit Coach bag.

Truth be told, I really thought it was a restaurant shot. The meat and pot/veggies look great, I just couldn't ID the bread thingy. (OK, I'm lying. I thought it was a restaurant shot, because none of my single friends drinks beer and wine at the same time.)
