I don't know if there are any fans of the short-lived show Freaks and Geeks, but yeah, it's my favorite TV show of all time. It takes place in Michigan in 1980, and it centers around the Weir family, with the brother and sister in high school. Yeah, yeah, but it's not like any other high school show out there. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend adding it to your Netflix queue or however else you can get ahold of it. At least make it through a disc, as the real impact of the show happens over time. I've never seen character handled so well in any other show. Oh, and ignore all of my hype, as hype never seems to help. Just pretend I only said it was okay.

Anyway, the reason I bring it up is because I'm listening to the soundtrack CD for it, and it makes a strong case for music of that era. I'm not sure if I just like the music because it was used so well in the show, and I associate the songs with those scenes, or if I'd be into the music anyway, but yeah, I'm enjoying it. The original music for the show is also very good.

I know the title of the show makes it seem like it would be very heavy-handed, stereotypical writing, but the characters have real depth, and it ends up feeling very real. I don't think most people would have trouble connecting with the characters.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that it's funny.

Anyway, yeah.
