I just found out from one of my buddies there is such an abomination. He's looking for jumper cables and can't find a good ol' Cu cable anywhere. His research and mine shows it's made its way into signal and other cables as well and components like inductors and armatures of all kinds. Al has a conductivity of 62% and Cu-clad Al 68%. So 32% of charge is being heated to death with this crap. Please write to your state's/province's/county's/prefecture's metallurgical rep and ask to have this nonsense stopped.
