We had the pleasure of attending C du S Varekai in Victoria, BC a couple of days ago. Overall it was very well done production that was set up here in half of a modern hockey arena.

While the stage show was typical Cirque, what impressed me as much was their sound. All music & sound effects are live by vocalists an a small orchestra that produces big, big sound. The percussion was really explosive & clean that made me surmise that there was a good sound system behind the scenes. It seems that the percussionist is the only original cast member from 2002 when the tour started & he has never missed a show over all of this time - over 4400 performances:

On my way out, I stopped by the Control Board & talked to their Sound Man. He was really pleased that someone actually complimented his sound team on such a superb system. He stated that he was driving 2 sets of 4 X 18" subs with 12000 Watts plus a 2000 Watts or so for the mids & highs. This is not the largest system in the world but it sure did the job in that venue. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask him what brand of speakers that he was driving.

Highly recommended if you are on their 2015/16 North American & European tour - schedule can be found at the bottom of the page here:
