Been looking or reading up on the axiom speakers for a while and have heard good things. I mostly just watch movies and very little for just music. I have a denon 3805 reciever. My room is around 17x17x17 but open to the rear to the rest of the house. CArpet floor and 10 ft ceiling.

I have been looking at the m60 or m80's. Not sure if there is much difference between the 2 other than the 80's will be louder and for larger rooms. My thoughts were to go with the 60's also since they are the 8 ohm versions. Are there many differences between the two?

Also planned on getting the vp150 and the qs8's. I have heard nothing bad about both of those. Just trying to figure out if i should just go with maybe the m22's and a sub rather than the m60's or 80's since i mostly watch movies. Not the brightest when it comes to most of this so could always use some help.

Oh i forgot. I was also reading up on monitor audio and have heard good reviews of their s6 and s8's also. Thought about using them for my fronts and still the axiom for everything else. Any idea's on those either?

Welcome, panhead. Your receiver will have no problem driving the M60s or M80s. It seems like you have quite a bit of space to fill and maybe the M22s might strain a bit. Regardless, I would still add a sub if movies are your thing.

Chesseroo did a speaker comparison a while back and noted the Monitor Audio Silver series was very comparable to the Axiom sound. Monitor Audio, then, had the edge in terms of cabinetry, but with the new Axiom custom shop you have quite a few more options.

I would say go with the QS8s regardless of what you use for front channels. I believe the VP150 would match well with the MAs, but then you may just want to save a bit longer to get the Silver center.

Either way you go, you're gonna like it. I hope. . .

You can call or email Axiom to discuss your HT needs any time. They are extraordinarily helpful. Just tell them your needs, thoughts, and concerns and they will help you come up with a package that will work. The 3805 will drive any Axiom setup you come up with.

hey guys thanks for the info so far. I am pretty sure that the qs8's are definatly going to be the surrounds. They seem to be some of the best out there. People have been telling me to start looking at the rockets. So i have been doing that also and they seem to be a lot better speaker than the monitor audio. They look pretty good. They are just about $500 more for the whole set than the whole set by axiom. has anyone here listen to the rockets rs750 or the new rs760?

I considered Rockets when I was initially shopping around about 3 years ago. I actually had some mains in the old shopping cart until I got to the shipping charge page. I chose to empty the cart at that time.
