I ordered a pair of m3's and FMS-24's from the FO last night. I had kinda wondered about stability but then forgot. It wasn't until I was putting the FMS's in the cart that I discovered the existence of the little balls to fill the columns of the stands. Having the steel trap mind that I do, It took until this evening to think about needing those weights. The weights would give me the magic 5 items for the discount so the net cost on one box-o-balls would be around $50.00. Is it worth it? Anyone using them? The stands will be on thick carpet in a low traffic area by a wall.

i have qs8's on the old style stands and they are really top heavy with the qs8's on them, but i have been able to keep them in locations where no one walks. if you can place your stands/speakers where no one will be around them, i would think that you would not need the weights, if i were going to buy a new set of stands however, i would definatly buy the weights, just for the stablity, and the fact that they would make the stands that much more solid. but thats just me.
hope this helps.
