Blu-ray gets Managed Copy next year, requires new hardware - engadgetHDBD Managed Copy Launches in 2010, New Player Required - Blu-ray.comI like the idea of managed copy, but I don't like the hoops you have to jump through and the extra fees they'll charge. I like having the physical media--I can take it with me or loan it out--but I also like the idea of being able to have a copy on a media server and be able to pull up a menu of all of my titles. What would be really cool is if I could make a playlist of scenes from different titles. It would be easy to set up demos that way. But yeah, I imagine this feature won't be handled very well. It will be too much of a hassle, and people will have to do things illegally for the sake of convenience.
