I have just got a new set of m80 ti v2 speakers and am looking at a good amp to run them at good levels and sound amazing. I currently have a 3 year old Yamaha RXV1300 which is rated @ 100/w channel @8ohms. I have the chance to get a old bryston 4B but it was made in 1979 and is in well used shape. I live in peterborough so I can bring it to bryson and pay for a check up and get a new face plate to bring it up to par. or I can get 2 outlaw audio momo blocks m2200's. both of these would be around the same price. the bryston is only $300 cnd but needs about $200 bucks to get it new again and looking good in my rack. I don't have experience with either of these amps just yamaha and I did have a nad c270 2 channal amp.. please tell me what to do !! lol I am going to use the Rxv1300 as a preamp for now but am looking at getting a outlaw 990 soon .. if this was a newer bryston the outlaw monos would not be an option lol ...

My system ...

Hitachi HD PJ52 projector
Yamaha Rxv1300 Receiver
Denon 3910 Dvd Player
Xbox 360
Playstation 3 (Blu Ray) Player
starchoice HD Sat
Axiom M80 Ti v2 Speakers

Earthquake 2511 center speaker
Earthquake 1511 bookshelves
Axoim AX500 Sub
Phillips 3390 DVD Recorder

The bryston is probably a better quality amp overall than the Outlaw's IMO. Although it is nearly 30 years old which is an age where things start needing to be replaced internally such as electrolytic capacitors mainly. If you take it to bryston for a check up im sure they will replace anything that may be so-so and bring it back to original spec however. The C270 you had would have also been a good canidate.

I believe there are also a couple of people here that use the Outlaw amps too so they may chime in. Even though I dont have personal experience with either of these amps If i were in the situation It probably would come down to how good or bad of shape the Bryston is in and what I really wanted in an amp. I dont think you can go wrong either way.

Hey Ice,

You don't have to double post at the Axiom forum, we all monitor all the threads and it is not as big as AVsforum.

Anyway, as I said in your other thread, jakeman has been a long time owner of Bryston amps, he lives by the factory. I'm sure he will be along soon to provide input.
