My new Oppo just bit the dust after 6 weeks

I have been using component video because my sony tv does not support hdmi. Well I went to watch a movie tonight and when the player is turned on i get two wavy images of the picture. I tried just the single video out and it worked. Also tried different cables with no luck. I plugged in my old dvd player with component and everything worked.(not a tv problem)
Seems strange that the component out doesn’t work but the single video out worked.... Has anyone heard of any problems like this with Oppo?

Bad luck Chet, and rare, but not "strange". If you're referring to the single cable composite output as still working, the circuitry for handling the TV signals divided into three components is totally different and wouldn't affect S-Video or composite outputs. Call Oppo.
