This is the title of a book I found in a bargain bin today. I paid $4 but you can find most of it here:
http://www.1000recordings.com/I found myself first reading up on the recordings in the book that I already have, learning a lot of new stuff about them. Then the nice thing is that in each article it also mentions related music on similar and tangential planes, making me curious about other recordings.
I think it is a great tool that will help focus my future music explorations and purchases. It covers all music genres.
