Guys,
Please help me decide this. I got this receiever 2 weeks ago and I am still auditioning and axiom is getting my attention.
I will use my reciever primarily for music and that is rock and metal. I also love deep bass. Do you think M3 pair will be a good combo with my Yamaha htr5760?
My room is a typical New York studio: 10X18.
I wil later on add surround and a sub.
Please advice.
thanks,

Hello Bonovox,
Hope you are well. The M3's are a good choice for a small room without a sub, and will shine with a sub.
If you like your music more forward and less laid back, the common concensus is that you would like the M22Ti better. Or you could get both to preview them in your environment and send the one you don't like back.
Later,
TonyM

BV, welcome. There's no need for any confusion over the M3 + 5760 combination. The M3 is a fine speaker and any receiver with a reasonable amount of power will work well with it; no "matching" of speakers and receivers is necessary. You mention deep bass and neither the M3 nor any similar speaker may satisfy you in that area; possibly you should consider getting the sub at the same time. With a good sub for the lowest bass the M22s or even M2s would make for a fine combination.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

I recently picked up a Yamaha HTR 5740 and paired it with an inexpensive Sony CD player, M22s, and a Velodyne CHT-8 subwoofer. For under $1000 I got a secondary system that sounds 90% as good as my primary system (About $3000). The Axioms will sound very good with that (or any decent) receiver.

I have the HTR 5660 and a set of M80's. You should be very happy with the bookshelves, but I second the others - if you are a bass nut, get a sub ASAP.

Epic 80/600 + M3's + M3 Algonquins + M2 Computer + EP125 I think I'm developing an addiction.
