Hi all,

Getting close to making the big purchase and I'm going to go with one of these two (both the vinyl options, not real wood).

I've seen a few HG Cherry pictures scattered throughout the site, but very few good burled walnut pics. I'd appreciate if any of you who have either would post the pics of those beauties here. I figure I can't go wrong either way, but a few pictures would be quite helpful.

Thanks!

Jason

Yes, please!! I am in exactly the same situation. I'm trying to decide between these two finishes, as well. I saw some great pics posted in another thread of the HG Cherry finish (http://www.flickr.com/photos/23540132@N05)... but have yet to see some decent pics of the burled walnut.

Thanks a ton!

That's the same one I've seen, and while it looks good, this lone picture of the burled walnut is hard to sway me from the HG Cherry. Those full theater pics of HG Cherry are just beautiful! I'd love to see some towers in the walnut to compare.

Agreed, not towers, but the finish is beautiful... it's a hard call!

Hey, that's my pic! Agreed it's not the greatest, but it's probably the best one I've got.

Here's my thoughts--I feel the long grain pattern of the HG Cherry is more suited towards towers. While I like the Burled Walnut on my M3s, I would not like that finish on a tower speaker. I've seen numerous pics of other speakers in burled finishes and have always felt there is too much going on with the grain for the bigger sizes.

These are just my opinions geared towards my taste. If I were to order M60s or M80s I'd get them in HG Cherry.

Good advice... makes total sense. I did e-mail axiom to see if they had any pictures of Towers in Walnut that they could send out. If I get any, I'll let you guys know.

Hey guys, just thought I'd post this picture of the M3 in High Gloss Burled Walnut. Tim from Axiom sent it to me in response to my query about pictures of the towers in walnut.

It is not a tower pic, and he said they don't have any pics of the towers (seems like maybe no one has ordered any).

Either way, it's the best pic of the walnut I've seen, so I thought I'd post it here.

Jason

Nice pic for sure!!

I was in the same quandry and ordered my pair of M3's in HG cherry 3 weeks ago. Still waiting for them to show up, but will post some pics when they arrive.

The walnut is beautiful, but I (and Mojo) thought that the HGC would be better suited in my house as the floors are mostly a northern red oak.

I know.....taking interior design advice from an engineer like Mojo is a bit out on a limb. \:\)
