Hey everyone,

I just got my M22s this week and I am impressed! However, I am still looking for a nice 2 channel amp for them( I am barrowing a friend's right now and it is a rather noisy party amp). Right now, I am leaning towards the NAD C350 (60W x2), and I can get it for around $350. Does anyone have any recommendations for integrated stereo amps in this price range for the M22?

Thanks.

that's a good amp. I think there's a cambridge audio that's not too expensve.. the a500? it looks better than the NAD, as well. I've heard both, and I prefer the Cambridge. The NAD had a bit of a 'filtered' sound, very digital.

Hello jquark,
I think the NAD C350 is a good choice. Try these guys, www.yawaonline.com. They have some very good pricing and they are an authorized NAD dealer. If you have any questions you can call them toll free and talk to Bill.

You can also get Denon products.

the DRA 295 is 450$ CAN, 50 wpc
the DRA 395 is 600$ CAN, 80 wpc

I have a denon 1602 (5.1 home theatre integrated). I find it matches perfectly with M22's, and Axiom speakers. It can drive 4, 6, or 8 ohm speakers, has lot's of punch (except at VERY loud volumes), and a very neutral, clean sound. I prefer Denon to NAD. NAD audio products can sound a tad filtered sometimes.

Thanks everyone for the quick reply!

As of now, it's between the NAD C350 and teh cambridge audio A500. Can anyone go into detail about a comparison between the two- citing strengths and weaknesses.

Thanks

A few years ago I was in the same situation as you, I was considering NAD, Creek, Cambridge..

Finally I ended up on the used market and got myself a Rotel RA-980BX which is worth about 3 times as much as those other amps I was considering buying new.

My suggestion is to shop a little on the second hand market to see what good deals you can find (www.audiogon.com, www.ebay.com , classified in magazines..).

I second the comment on searching the used market first - you might be able to find a NAD C370 for less than a new C350. I don't think that the warranty is transferable, though. I can personally vouch for the C350 as it's driving a pair of M3Tis in my living room. The sound is balanced and clean and the amp easily handles all types of music.
