iam looking to get the epic 60.350 or the epic 60.500 system for my area with the larger vp150 center channel. My room size is 18 x 19 with vaulted ceilings that go to 14feet. I would like to know if any body has had both the ep 350 and the ep 500. And if they noticed any improvement over the other and if it was worth the extra cash. Thanks for your help scott

With a room that size, I'd go with the EP500. At the very least, a HSU STF-3 or VTF-3. That's a big room to fill.

scott

get the ep500
that is a big room and you'll really enjoy the added bass the bigger sub will give you.

you said you're also thinking about a vp150. if you dont have a center already, go for it. if you already have one, is it really that bad that you need an upgrade? you'll know if wehn you watch movies, you find it hard to hear the voices, or if the voices sound like they aren't coming straight from the center.

The EP500 is the sub for your room. Or the SVS Ultra series. But my matched axioms look good too.

I must be a wuss. I have a SVS PB12-ISD in a 15'x15'x15' room at 30% gain and it's plenty for me. Of course my neighbors still like me though.

I started out with the 350 and thought that was a great sub for music. For watching movies, after reading all the posts about LFEs and "feeling" the tremors and shakes, I didn't think it was delivering on that end. I contacted Axiom and we arranged an upgrade. The 500 was a good improvement in the music arena but where it really shinned, at least for me, was HT. No I can relate to those "feeling" posts.

Go with the 500. You won't be disappointed and you'll sleep better at night.

Axiom stuff, Denon stuff, & Sony stuff

I went from a sub in the EP350 class (PSB 6i) to one more like the EP500 (SVS 20-39PC+) and there is a very significant difference when playing movies. For that room I would upgrade to EP500 before I upgraded to VP150, for example.

M60ti, VP180, QS8, M2ti, EP500, PC-Plus 20-39
M5HP, M40ti, Sierra-1
LFR1100 active, ADA1500-4 and -8
