Hello... i'm terribly eager to place an order for a pair of M60tis after reading so much about them.. however.. I would like to enquire where all Axiom speakers together with the parts within, are made/manufactured/assembled.

Assembled in Canada at the Axiom factory, and shipped direct from there. As for individual components, I don't know....

i believe the actual woofers and tweeters are made in china from an axiom contractor, then shipped to the axiom plant in canada. there, they actually make/cut the speaker boxes, assemble the speakers and electronics, and apply the covering and ship.

i think that is right, but please, someone chime in if i am incorrect.

Oh no... cause i've had tons and tons of china assembled stuff, from the harmon receivers to earlier versions of moniters and speakers and they DIED after 2 yrs or so.. sigh... hope that the axioms are made SOLELY in canada, and no where else.. will email the company direct then.. thanks guys

trev- while i can respect your concern due to your prior experiences, i can assure you that these are top grade speakers, top to bottom. many of the people on this board have had their speakers for several years, and experienced no probs at all.

while i cant say you will 'never' have any probs yourself, i can say that these aint no top shelf wal-mart speakers. you will be buying one of the most economical speakers in the 'high-end' speaker market. axioms compete with, and often exceed the performance of most top grade speakers, regardless of price.

i encourage you to contact axiom and get answers to your concerns. but have no fear, these speakers cut no corners, and their performance and customer service record speaks for itself.

The 60s come with a 5 year warranty, and Axiom customer service is among the best I've ever encountered. What are your concerns?

I have to agree that I would like the idea of thinking that the drivers are hand assembled by German craftsmen, but the truth is that in ANY country, there are products that are manufactered cheaply and others that are manufactured very well. I think the determining factor is NOT in which country the drivers originate, but rather how strict Axiom's requirements for quality control are. All indications (based upon the incredible reviews of owners) is that these speakers are NOT cheaply made, therefore I'm not really concerned with the country of origin of the drivers.

It would be different if people were reporting failing Axioms, but I'm not reading anywhere that that's the case. And don't forget: China has a space program, too!

Agreed. I don't remember a single post relative to quality issues of the innards, including the components made in China. It's the quality control on the specs that Axiom provides that is important. In the very few posts I've seen relative to some type of problem, the problem always stems from either damage or something needing to be tightened. In both instances the problem resolution is quick and effective.

One thing I have always found remarkable is what a nice job the speakers do in converting the language running through the Chinese components back to english so I can understand the dialog on my DVDs. It's virtually seamless.
