I recently purchased some M22 v2 to use for my front speakers in a new theater setup. I will have a 106in projector screen and had purchased the mounting arms to mount the speakers to the wall. The area behind the wall I will be installing the speakers on is an unfinished storage area. I was thinking about possibly cutting holes in the wall and flush mounting the speakers instead of using the mounting arms. I could still get to the backs of the speakers through the unfinished area. My question is whether I will lose any sound quality having the port on the back or the speaker shoot into a different room that the theater? I am sure this is probably a simple question but I want to make sure before I start cutting holes. Thanks

The purpose of the port is to allow the low freq's to filter into the room. If you were going to mount them in the wall, you would have been better off with the W22's. Also, by attaching them to the wall in either method will not allow you to properly position them from the front wall and/or side walls for best performance or toe them in for best soundstage. jmo \:\)

Thanks, I would like to put the speakers on stands but having a 2 and 4 year old that is not an option right now. I guess I will just stick with the mounting arms. They do allow you to toe and tilt the speakers so I think I should be fine. Thanks again.

I have two sons, 3yrs old and 8yrs old, and believe me they are wild and curious, however, with a little work they know not to go near my m80's or vp150. \:\)

Make sure you mount them correctly or you may not be able to make use of the port holes.... \:D
