My tweeter just lost sound on one of my M22's. When I first received my pair of speakers the tweeter on one of them was not functioning, I called axiom and they kindly sent me a new one.
However my new one just seemed to die the other day and is not producing sound at all anymore.

I am wondering if there is connections I should be checking in my speaker and if I do so would it void a warranty? Also how might this be happening to avoid it in the future?

Well, since I'm the only member online at the moment, I'll say "welcome" and offer a little (but not a lot of) help.

Definitely unusual..... although we see postings of an occasional driver failure, it's not common. And to have two is really uncommon. In the big scheme of things, I'll beat many to the punch and say that you should call Axiom. I think they're there on Saturdays.

But I would take a moment to just switch your Left and Right speakers, just to make sure the loss of tweeter output stays with that speaker and does not "now switch to the other speaker" indicating a likely problem with your receiver.

Really, though, if a receiver is at fault, you would likely lose a whole channel (speaker's) worth of sound, not just the highs.

So it IS likely the tweeter itself.

By the speaker it lived,
by the speaker it died.
They said it was murder,
but it was tweetercide.

I'm tired. smile

Based on your post it sounds like the replacement tweeter is the one that just died which means both problems have been with the same speaker?

If that is the case I suggest that you temporarily swap the tweeters between the two speakers and see if the one that stopped working does actually work in the other speaker cabinet. If it works when you move it to the other cabinet then the problem is likely something loose on the crossover which probably remade contact when you switched out the original.

If the tweeter is still dead when you move it to the other cabinet then IMO there is still something wrong in the wiring of the crossover since having two bad tweeters, one out of the box, is highly unlikely.

Either way like Mark said contact Axiom.

I would call Axiom the techs work into the evening. They are the only people that can tell you what to do, and yes they may have you inspect the wiring. It is probably unlikely that both tweeters were defective, so something else internally must be the problem.
