I can't find any specs on the Denon for 4 ohms. They list 8/6 but nothing for 4.

I have M80's, will also have vp-150 and qs8's on same amp.

Anyone know wattage and % distortion, and anyone with this setup comment on how it handles the power? Hot, loud enough? ( mention room size and music/movie taste)

Many thanks

Hi newf:

Can't give you specs but I have mine in a room measuring 20X25X10 and it runs the 80s good enough for my taste. I've never owned a denon before but this one runs warm to hot when playing in stereo mode at about -15db. But it's never quit on me.

newf, i have a denon 1602 (lower end than 380X)

i run m80's set to large (no sub)
qs8's
vp150

it doesn't run hot, even if on for hours at a decent volume level. i have been doing this for about a year now. no problems. denons play 4 ohm speakers nicely and it sounds damn good to my ears.

Like the others, you should not have a problem driving M80's with Denon AVR's. Actually, Denon is one of the receivers the Axiom staff recommends for 80's, as well as HK. Another option, would be to use seperates.

Make sure you allow enough ventilation all around the receiver. I believe Denon states at least 4".

Agree with everyone.

I have been running 3805 for a while now and it handles the load well. I have not had any clipping or even signs that the receiver is overheating.
