M5HP - Room Correction for Frequency Response #441255 02/16/2021 5:53 PM

I'm currently running room correction in my current system (elac dbr-62, still waiting for my M5HP) to arrive.

The M5HP seem to just have a capacitor on the tweeter and the mid-range and woofer just use the woofers own kinetic natural roll off.

I looked at the frequency response provided by Axiom Audio. I wanted to know for those who used room-correction (minidsp, dirac, anthem arc) to smooth out the frequency response curve, did you notice a significant improve?

I know this is heavily dependent on the in-room response curve and the characteristics of the room (treated, vs non-treated vs wave interference).

Thanks in advance to any feedback!

The M5 bookshelves needed 15 dB of bass attenuation in my 1920 cu ft living room. In my 4200 cu ft space, I could have lived without XT32 "correction" but they sounded better with Audyssey on. The M5OW in my living room need about 5 to 10 dB of bass attenuation for mid to loud listening depending on the tune.

Listen to them for a few weeks without correction. They can take 30 hours to break in.
