I hadn’t checked in for a while but see that the N3 has had a makeover, is there somewhere I can read what’s changed vs my prior generation model?

Hi Tom, here is a quick rundown:

The latest version is running a more powerful Raspberry Pi (3B+).

Added volume and mute controls on the top of the unit.

In addition to the analog input where the volume can now be controlled from the app, we've added an optical input so you can plug in your TV or any other device with an optical output.

High current USB jack for charging current-hungry devices.

Rear outrigger feet to prevent you from damaging the power jack when you tilt the unit backwards.

All USBs and the LAN connection are now at the back of the N3 for easier access.

I think I should add some protective out rigging to my Air ...
Even after knowing better, I'm still temped to lean the thing back.
