I have 2 x N3 V1s purchased from the initial kickstarter program from 2015 and having some issues after upgrading to V2.12.3.

I followed the upgrade steps from "Re: AxiomAir v. 1.097 unable to get update Tbone#435717" and successfully flashed the card and had no issues on the first 16 steps.

On Step 17 "WIRELESS NETWORKING" within the app is "off". The first thing I did was turn on "WIRELESS NETWORKING". When I turn it on nothing changes and I am unable to see my wifi network. I then pressed the "Save" button and it saves the settings and then starts "Searching for device" and then errors out with "Device not found".

Thus I am unable to set my home wireless network password and SSID. Not sure if that is due to my having the original N3s that requires a dongle for WiFi. Both my N3s have the black EDiMAX dongle.

As per Step 21 from tbone's thread, I suspect I may need to get the white WiFi dongles. I haven't tried my old black EDiMAX dongles as the guidance states to ask for the white dongles.

Please acknowledge if you will be sending me 2 white dongles for each of my original N3s as well what additional steps I may have to take to configure WiFi.

Thanks in advance

Hi Jonathan,

If I'm reading correctly, you do not have the black dongles plugged in? Without the dongle you will have no WiFi. I would try re-installing the dongle in one unit and booting it up to see if you are able to see your home WiFi network.

Thanks,

Andrew
Thanks Andrew

I figured as much and should have tried. I was following Ian's directions under the thread mentioned. Must be for a newer N3.

My brother also bought an N3 at the same time and he was upgraded to the newer white wifi dongle.

Is that something that should be upgraded on both my older N3s?
Andrew

Yesterday I was able to configure with the old EDiMAX dongle and get WiFi configured properly. First connecting as a hotspot and then rebooting. I was able to connect to the N3 from the AxiomAIr app on android and confirm that it was on my home network.

I then tried to use BubbleUPnp to play some music but I couldn't see the N3 as a rendered. I then left it for the day as it was late. I assume that may be why I need the white EDiMAX dongles.

However, big problem this morning when I tried to troubleshoot this some more. It seems to be bricked now. I left it connected to power and powered on as normally do. This morning l and found the N3 powered off. The power is connected and have the green light on the power brick. The N3 will not power up.

What are my next steps in getting it first to power up and then for BubbleUPnP to see the N3 as a rendered?
When you press the power button on your N3, is the green light still lighting up on the front panel?

Thanks,

Andrew
