You may or may not be familiar with my half-assed aspirations (half-asspirations) to become a fiction writer of written fiction. I'm barely able to finish short stories, and that's if I gracelessly twist them off before they even hit a recognizable stride. However, I find it fun to occasionally churn out these snapshots of my SHORT ATTENTION SPAN. I normally wouldn't try to push them onto anybody besides my coworkers, but for whatever reason, I'm in the mood tonight.

If you have bad taste, please read my most recent ultra-short story. I'm not really looking for critiques. I'm fairly confident in knowing my inadequacies at this point. Mainly, I just want to waste like three minutes of your time, as I am diabolical.

A short story

Also, National Novel Writing Month is next month. I asked last year if anyone was taking part, and while none of you did, it seemed to pique the interest of a few members. So is anyone going to try it this year? I imagine not, since you would be lost to us for the whole month. If I tried again, I'm sure I'd get about as far as before, which is to say 2000-3000 words. I may still do that. Ha ha.

But yeah, I'm not a great writer. I'm constantly impressed by people on this forum, however. Some of you express yourselves very well, and I often wonder what kinds of fiction you'd write. So hurry up and write some to satisfy my curiosity, then tell me that you didn't actually write it to take away my satisfaction. It will be such a fun game.

It seems like there are a couple of you short story tellers running around these forums CV. ;\)

Neat little story, thanks for sharing...and *yes* I did read all of it. \:\)

And several long story tellers as well (myself included ). ;\)
Thanks for sharing, Charles! Knowing your personality on these forums I was expecting some absurdity in your story. That is not an insult, by the way. Regardless of what you think of your abilities--keep writing! It is an incredibly difficult talent to master.

Shoot, you're gonna make me dig for my old notebooks from high school and college. Filled those things up with stories with no end.

Thanks for reading, guys!

And yes, Sean, dig those notebooks up. There's nothing better than disturbing a proper burial. I mean, rediscovering a golden age.

Thanks for sharing, CV. I quite enjoyed that, absurdity included. I did appreciate the pun apology, as well. \:\)

Oh, by the way, thanks, Peter. I forgot to say that.
