I just watched the "How's it made" TV show on the discovery channel.

They had a segment showing how pipe organs are made.

Holy CRAP there is a lot of work that goes into those things!

If anyone is interested check out the discovery channel sometime, I am sure it will get repeated eventually.

Yep, lots of work to build them. It also was quite a bit of work to actually pay them since you had to have a couple people stepping on big bellows to pump air into the organ while a third person would play it. They use electric compressors nowadays.

Yeah, I've seen that one. It's a whole lot of work. There was also a Dirty Jobs where Mike Rowe went to an organ refurbisher and saw a very, very small part of what goes into that.

I saw the DirtyJobs episode, pretty cool. Not sure what was the dirty part of maintaining pipe organs, other than a little dust and the occasional rat nest, yikes!
