I picked up a three-pack of Sylvania Dot Lights yesterday and I'm impressed. The ones I bought have a single LED and a built-in motion sensor. Lowes also hadthese that you have to touch to turn on, but have 3 LEDs.

My wife has wanted one those battery operated closet lights for awhile, but I was always telling her that they weren't at all bright. These are.... They run ~$8 each and include the three AA batteries.

I thought they might be useful for many in lighting equipment racks and closets as well....

I'm impressed in case you can't tell....

Nice. Those are certainly much better than the regular bulb push-on pieces of crap I've seen. \:\)

The one that was left in the apartment when we moved in took 4 aa batteries and worked for about 2 weeks. Nice to hear about the LED ones.

Hi Mark..the link to the ones you bought doesn't mention a motion sensor feature, just easy touch on/off and that it turns off after an hour. I like em!

Yeah, I didn't see anything about the motion sensors either, but that's what I bought.

It's not "motion sensor" as if it lights when you walk in a room, it's "motion sensor" as if "it lights when you wave your hand past it".

The first wave turns it on at full brightness, a second one turns it to half brightness, and a third turns it off. If you don't wave that third time, it turns off after an hour evidently.

I think it would be sweet above a turntable or disc player where you need some light for a minute or two...

Does it wave back?

I really needed that laugh this morning. Thanks! \:\)

Speaking of waving at things.... I remember taking a friend to Halifax back when I was 17 or so. He had never left his small town before so Halifax, although not huge, was a city of wonders for him. Me and another buddy had some fun with the motion sensing doors going across a raised pedway. We made a point of waving our arms in front of it in a big, overdone gesture to see if he would follow suite. We started letting him go first and sure enough, he waved his arms like madman in front of very big glass door we came across.
