TomTuttle had an interesting suggestion to expand the photo gallery to make it a bit more user-friendly. It turns out we can (in a roundabout way) add sub-folders to sort out the contents of the gallery for easier posting and viewing.
What categories would everyone like to see? Eg Home Theater, Stereo, Outdoor Installations, Interesting Perspectives, Where Avatars go to Die? Looking for some suggestions!
I have a better suggestion. Let's get more products out
.
What would we put in interesting perspectives? I think that's probably a good range, maybe something for silly stuff.
How 'bout a category specifically for custom finishes?
It was kind of you to
blame credit me, Amie.
Perhaps the Shout Box has value after all.
I like those categories. But no matter what you do, everyone is going to dump all kinds of stuff into "other"
I would like the ability to place all my pictures in one location, based on my username, for example. Currently, you can only upload 3 at a time, and later can't add any additional pictures to this original album/gallery.
Lets say a person wants to view all of BrotherBob's (RickF) pics, currently they would be scattered around based on post date.
I like Randy's idea a lot. Perhaps then we could also have a normalized tag table with the values Amie suggested to assign to each picture.
How about a link from a member's profile going to a personalized gallery. Say I submit photos to different galleries, but if you click on my name it'll take you to a page that has all the pictures I've submitted. That way we'll still have categories, and a way to see the rest of one's pics easily.
I like the idea of some sort of index, A to Z maybe...
There are an awful lot of members, though. And if someone just wanted to look at some nice theatre setups (for example), they'd be dancing all over the place, first seeing Randy's setup, then finding my living room, (and saying, "That's not what I'm looking for!), and then over to Mike's pics, etc.
I suppose categories might be a good idea then. 2 Channel setups, projection setups, etc. Then if they find one of my pictures it would allow them to see all in my gallery.
