Has anyone ever read this? I personally own a pair of m22s and love them. I know they aren't perfect but I enjoy them and thats the important part. Can this guy possibly enjoy listening to music being this critical of a very decent speaker such as the m3? He mentions the Linkwitzlab speakers which do interest me, but those are 8grand. Basically he says there are no good speakers to buy anywhere, so why is he reviewing speakers with a view like this? He has some good things to say, but for the most part I take it all with a grain of salt. What do you guys think?

One massive grain of salt. Witness his review of the Bose Wave Radio. Dude's all over the map.

Pompous ass. Utterly useless review.

I knew that was Monte, he is constantly bashing Axiom(on AVS)and pretty much most other speakers out there that he feels are under engineered. His perfect speaker is one that sounds as good for the entire 360deg. circle around it as it does on axis, amazingly he says has has yet to find a manufactured speaker up to his standards, so he builds his own.

He has since been told that the rest of the Axiom lineup do in fact, have crossovers and has eased his bashing a little.

Has he looked into the B&Os? Bet his own speakers sound like ass...

I love how he says he is designing his own speaker thats gonna rule the world, but he may or may not share plans and he's not gonna sell it either. I wonder if he was to discover the cure to cancer, would he share that with the world? By the way this was my first post on this web site, and I love the reaction I got, made me hate the world less to see that everyone felt the way I do about this review.

There are a few people out there who need to crap on something/someone.

Monte's reviews are egotisitcal little pieces of self-congratulatory drivel. Most of his review centered on how much smarter he was than the rest of us. Poor, little pitiful soul. An true internet anonomist.

Interestingly, though, while only recommending speakers that come in at just under 10K, he can't stop blabbing about how he built a pair of decent sounding speakers for under $300. You get the sense that he's been to a couple of trade shows and has a background in engineering and that this qualifies him to teach the world a lesson on listening enjoyment.

I think that, unfortunately, little Monte has long ago abandoned actually listening to music for the enjoyment of it all. He's like a child intent on disproving the existence of Santa Clause. He has set himself up for dissapointment because (short of hiring an orchestra to play live music in a hall at his whim) he will never achieve that "perfect" listening experience with a pair of loud speakers. Any magic left in the experience has long vanished for him. Now, he relegated to criticism for criticisms sake.

Great post, Cap'n.

I didn't read the whole link in question - it seemed like too much blather, and I didn't want to put up with it.

Thanks for telling me my assessment was correct.
