Hey, you may have noticed it's a new month!

Well, a while back I proposed making our avatar hivemind project rotate on a monthly basis. This month it's:

There are so many characters in Springfield that I bet we'll have all kinds of fun with this one.

I figured my choices boiled down to Dr. Hibbert or Dr. Nick. I can relate to both, and both are also wrong for various reasons such as, oh, skin color and death by glass impalement. In the end, I went with Dr. Nick because I perform the same procedure every day for the same price!

Of course, there's Simpsons avatar generators out there if you want to go with your own likeness, ha.

Ken, if you can't find the perfect Simpsons avatar, I understand if you want to stay as Bert - c'est magnifique!

Hope this doesn't start a Muppet-Simpsons civil war ...
I'm Back!
I object!
Don't watch the show much, but I'll give it a try.
Scruffy's a rebel.

Who am I to argue with a shareholder-in-the-making?! ;\)

HomeDad, you sure that's not a South Park character?! ;\)

This winking tic has got to go.

Randy, who is that?
Now, the fun speculation begins.

If Peter = reigning king of pranks, then he could be Bart or Krusty.

If Ken = Peter's second banana, then he could be Milhouse or Sideshow Mel.

If Peter = Bart, then AdamP88 = his sibling = Lisa!

This is moving along nicely in my little dream world ... la la la
[medic8r] bye bye Muppets
[pmbuko] what's next, doc?
[kcarlile] I dunno, I'm just not feeling the simpsons character for me.
[kcarlile] I was thining maybe Principal Skinner.
[kcarlile] or Burns.
[pmbuko] I'm not feeling mine either. I say we overrule JP and find our own theme.
[pmbuko] I'm going a different way altogether
[medic8r] Sam You Are.
[medic8r] You'll give in.
[pmbuko] I'm just not a big enough fam of the show to identify with the characters
[medic8r] *GASP*
[medic8r] *staggers, falls backward into chair, clutching heart*
[medic8r] Et tu, my twin?!
[pmbuko] i was playing too many computer games at the time. Blame Ken. He was my partner in crime
[medic8r] Yeah, that sounds like a plan.
[medic8r] However, he at least has made a Futurama avatar, I see.
[medic8r] I guess Futurama, being a Groening creation, is close enough. Also, "Life in Hell".
[medic8r] or is that "Life is Hell"?
[medic8r] You know, the one with the long-eared rabbit, Bongo
[medic8r] OK, Google says "in"
Man, I don't wanna be no Milhouse. Or Sideshow Mel. However...
Perfecto!

(Let the record show that Ken's post coincided with the introduction of a Sideshow Bob avatar)

NOW we're talking.
So, by extension, Peter is Krusty, and AdamP88 can be Mr. Teeny!

Ken, you need to take a picture of Sideshow Bob to your barber and say, "I'm going for this look".

I mean, you've already got the red hair, right?
I could probably do it right now, with a fair amount of volumizer and hairspray.

Milhouse... hrumph.
Halloween is less than 3 months away, hint hint.

Think of the fan acclaim you would get from posting a pic of that on the boards! Major points, I say.

Yeah, the Milhouse thing was a dig. Tee-hee!
I made my own at Simpsonize Me.
Demon Bart, God of Thunder.

Who's got that devil horns head banging smiley again?
Impressive. Was that a Treehouse of Horror incarnation, or was it where Homer went to rock camp, or something else entirely?

In any case, cool.
Couldn't tell you. Just something I found via Google, and quickly edited to avatar size.

I figured that if Simpsonize Me is fair game, and it definitely should be, just about anything can be done.

Out with the ticklish three year old, in with bone crunching bass riffs.

Spaceman Homer, Starchild Lisa, Cat Marge anyone?
My protest didn't last long. I went with Mark's method.

Ok, that's actually pretty cool.
Yeah, I foresee this becoming the standard. Cool.

I don't have a large enough pic of myself at work to do it! OK, waiting until home ...
Nah, you've gotta stick with Dr. Nick.

OOPS!
That's OK, you old-timers can't always see that well
Must be the dark glasses \:\)
I got mine....

I wanted to put on sunglasses and look cool, but I thought I'd be honest instead. LOL

I must go in other directions today.
Let's give this a try.
Tom, Shawn's stepping on your turf. You'd better hurry up. ;\)
Cartoon avatars are for......eeediots. ;\)

I'm both Itchy and Scratchy, since I'm into nothing if not self-mutilation.
I'm in. And this time I won't duplicate a character already taken - I did the simpsonizeme thing.

Scott
I'm going to give this some more thought.
Gee, slow weekend.
Tom:
Really, wouldn't you have picked ANY character in which the avatar showed beer? \:\)
It's sad how much this looks like me!

Ditto.

Scott
Likewise.
hmmmm... How did those pig tracks get on the ceiling?

<sing>
Spide pig, Spider pig, doing whatever a spider pig does"
</sing>
I look awesome as a Simpson.
Y'alls look alike.
I look jaundiced.
I was also kinda thinking that everyone looked alike....

I can't tell who's who without reading the names of the poster...
Yeah, and I haven't really worn a white lab coat in years, but that's part of Dr. Nick's costume work attire, so there you are ...

Post 1998 - finishing internship and starting second year of residency ...
Yeah, that's what's throwing me. I think it's probably because many of them are angled the same, not to mention a ton of you guys have brown hair.
Mine's really blond, I just don't wash it.
There.
I can't find a pic on my work computer to simpsonize!

In the meantime, here's a look at the 2007 Boston Red Sox, Simpsonized. Scroll through the slide show to see the pictures they used and to see who is who.

Post 1999, Chief resident that fall. I partied like it was 1959.
I flipped mine horizontally so at least it's looking a different way than the standard simpsonatars.
That helps a bit.
I want a full body shot of mine. I like to share everything!
I think you're only allowed to do that if you're Bart.
No, I just want to further dissapoint JP about his mental image of me.
I pictured you as a mix of David Spade and one of my stoner patients.
My mind explodes at the thought.

I'm much taller than him.

I can't decide if I look more like my South Park avatar, or the Simpson one. Charles is the only person to see me in person. . .he has the answer to this mystery.
Yeah, maybe I got the David Spade thing from the South Park character.

I thought you said Peter took a picture of you at a wedding?
No, it's MY wedding picture.

She's very shy, my wife, but she's proud of her fingernails.
No. If my memory is correct, I photoshopped him kissing an English bulldog beneath an arbor. I can't find the picture. \:\(
That's surprising. It's made its way into numerous threads. Three I think.
I may have nuked the server it was sitting on awhile back.
My wife's not going to be happy about that. \:\(
The picture's still there, it's just not turned on, and certainly not at the same address it used to be.
Then I won't make her bite you in the nuts.
That's probably for the best, then.

Also: midrange graphics card.

That was a non-sequitur, unless ... that's some kind of code request for a sexual act, isn't it?

Anybody else feel we should all back up slowly and just leave Ken and Peter and their wives and their nuts to figure out this "server" issue?
. . .backing away slowly.
Post 9600. Both ATI and nVidia have had cards named 9600 that were midrange models.

Also:

MY NUTS!
What? did you 'misplace' them??
He should check the laundry room. Maybe they are on the shelf next to the loose change.
Now I get it.

This went way differently in my mind the first time. I got Peter's avatar confused with Sean's avatar. I was wondering why Peter was joking about his wife biting Ken in the nuts. I mean, I know you guys are from Berkeley and everything, but wow.

So Sean, your wife is the bulldog, I get it. But are you/were you really married in real life (vs Axiom board life, I guess)?
Oh, I can see how that can be confusing.

No, I'm not married to her anymore. I couldn't afford to support the twelve kids we had.

Does that clear things up?
See, I'm telling you, the Simpsons avatars lead only to chaos, death, and destruction.

Of course, that's a good thing in my case.
And, just like that, the perfect avatar is back.

Perfect at least for that post.
I'll work on changing mine.

JP, no I'm not married in real life. I'm the world's coolest uncle, though.
Other than my avatars of Elliott, this is my favorite one ever.

You see, Bert is how I really am. Sideshow Bob is how I like to portray myself.

*bangs head on desk*

*sigh*
Looks like I posted too soon. This satellite is not as fast as I had hoped.

Now I can sigh for that reason.

I would be pleased to do that for you.
Testing.

<---is this one better?

Now there's the Sean I met.
It's definitely you.
It's good in the summertime.
LOL!

Be still my heart!
Posted By: CV Re: August avatar themes: if we were the Simpsons - 08/05/08 04:06 AM
You keep your heart in your pocket?
Just my hands, in case Sean's wife comes around again ...
*sigh*

She left me for a car.

Dunno if she ever caught up with it. . .
Edit:
Old picture was too small. Reduced it to just our heads.

Here is the larger pic of our whole family Simpsonized.

I'll take Armin Tamzarian.

Bren R.
Welcome, Principal Tamzarian!
