I don't like the series that much, but I was looking for a gift for a friend who likes that series quite a lot and she does not buy DVDs (but she likes to have them as gift! ).

Just popped over there and bought the set,finally. Been wanting to for a long time but the combination of $100 swings in price and new editions of the set with oddball packaging conspired to drive me away in fear of getting screwed.

Never seen an episode.

I did like the movie though.

I was thinking about getting it for my wife for Xmas, but she generally doesn't watch DVDs.

The first season, it didn't quite have it's mojo yet....Buffy was portrayed as a bit ditzy and "Valley Girl" (and the storylines and F/X were a little "TV").

It really just got better and better, though, with character development among the best I've ever seen. You forget about the silly premise before long, and you just like the characters and the way they interact....

Yes, I'm a guy. Yes, I love Buffy.

I got mine from the local Fry’s for $159.00 (see I don’t pirate everything). It was a special order that never got picked up so they gave me a deal on it. Also picked up the complete Angel series but always liked Buffy better.



I agree the characters improved with time though I thought that the series peaked with season 4. I actually liked the ditzy “Valley Girl” Buffy better than the serious mature Buffy of the later series and I also preferred the earlier story arcs.

Prefer Willow myself.

Being a TRUE Buffy fan...I already have all the individual seasons. Angel, too.

My wife and I do, too.

But I wish I had paid the price for THAT deal instead of what we DID pay!

Love the show, but saving all our pennies to fix our pool! We want to go swimming in February!
