I don't know what your parents taught you, but cuddling and snuggling does not a baby make.

Hmmmm.... This just might explain why Joyce and I are childless after 20 years.

Can you explain the correct process? Can you link to photos and videos?

Dear Mark,

Understanding the correct process should be a simple matter for someone with as much audio experience as you do.

Find an RCA cable that connects to the back from one piece of audio equipment that you have. For simplicity's sake, lets use a DVD player.

You'll follow this RCA cable until it reaches the back of the device, then pull it out of the connection. Imagine you are the "Male" cable. Yep, that's you. That high-quality gold plated (and hopefully not Monster) cable is all you.

Anyways, it is common audiophile knowledge that a connection must be "primed" before it reaches sonic nirvana. This priming process is a series of quick connections. While you, the gold-plated RCA cable, will be primed after say a dozen or more connections, the receiving device may take several times the amount of connections that you do.

Don't worry, keep at it. You can try other connections on the same device or even try the other side. Some people have found that licking the connection will give it better conductivity and yield quicker priming.

After several years, some people upgrade to a newer, shinier device while keeping their old cables. I, however, believe that devices are good until they die, and may get better with age.

I hope this helps in your quest for knowledge.

You asked for it ;-)

Hey thanks guys, the Bull rules, I'm pretty much working full time and then some trying to pay off my credit cards due to all of my extravagant spending last year.

For those who may have been wondering, yes I've learned my lesson, audio nirvana was worth it! ;\)
