It just mentions they are getting a new molding machine and they are clearing out stock to make room.
I never paid attention to the spelling and since I am doing alot of wood work right now I went with 'moulding' instead of the correct 'molding'. I will guess (led to this via email with mojo) this new piece of equipment is for plastics and enables them to make new speaker grilles, amp enclosures etc. in house.
Ah yes, the one I have never seen... Fits right in to the owners club I could never get into and the Bluejays tickets I won the year they went on strike.
So this would be an injection molding machine? Interesting.
"Melting snow and lake ice in Northern Ontario signals Spring is in the air, and at Axiom’s factory, we’ve opened up a big space in the factory to accommodate a new 400-ton molding machine that is about to arrive."
Yeah, sounds like an injection molding machine, quite a substancial investment. It makes me wonder if they have other plans beyond speaker grills ect. Did you say the sub amp enclosures are plastic?
It could also be for the outdoor M3. Adrian. With all the Automotive companies that have been pushed out of business, they might just have picked one up cheap. Well, relatively speaking anyway.
Axiom makes all the components that go into their products. Even the stuff made in China is made at Axiom’s factory in Shanghai. Axiom has one of the very few factories in China that are owned by a foreign company.(This is something we learned speaking with Ian.) The things that the molding machine could make are only limited by the imagination and skill of the person using CAD (with the machine’s limitations of course).
