Two channels are no longer working. I'll go down to 5.1 for the weekend and then no sound system for a week!
I am filled with sadness...
Time to get a new one as a replacement unit. If you are using a receiver as a pre-pro you can temporarily use that to power your system with. That must suck. The A1400 is an expensive purchase.
I don't think there are any A1400s that would be out of warranty at this point.
Yes, yes. There is a 5-year warranty. Otherwise I would be quite pissed off! It's just annoying to lose it for a few days, maybe a week. Good thing the D2v has an excellent headphone output!
That sucks but it does happen. I had two Rotel amps that were DOA and one that blew a channel right after getting it. I was real close to getting my money back but ended up with an amp that has worked now for 6 years or so.
Maybe you can get Ian, Tom, and Andrew to sign it while it's at the factory.
It is already signed... sound-wise!
It's got Ian's ears written all over it.
I thought all amps sounds the same
Forgot the smiley.
Unless you listen to music more than 12 hours a day, more often than not, your amp sounds like all the rest.
did you break the amp in? ..... sorry
pmbuko, i have to agree with you, in my mind there is really only 1 way an amp can sound different from another one.. if you compare a tube amp to a solid state...
in my experience i personally can not tell a "sonic" difference between 2 different solid state amps.. the only thing i really look for at this point is the real power the amp can produce, and if the advertised power is backed up by an adequate power supply... Thats why i have the amps i do now. they have WAY more power than my m6's will ever need. The amp i had before would every once in a while have a channel or 2 activate the clipping protection.. So i got 2 amps that are both rated for even more power...
EFalardeau, did you happen to ask for them to send you a 2 channel loaner? they might go for that. either way you know your in good hands, and they wont screw you around about getting your gear fixed...
That sucks, Eric. I hope the week passes swiftly.
Are the dead channels off the same board?
I would have hoped the A1400 would have a longer warranty than their speakers, something like 10yrs would really say something about Axiom standing behind their amp.
Yes, the same board (channels 5&6). When material is sent to the board, you can hear relays clicking.
At least you know what they will do to it, one new board and all is well
