And the radar isn't looking too sporty for the next several hours so I'm pretty much stuck indoors which is perfect for watching the NACAR race from Watkins Glen.
Oh wait ... I can't do that because there's no signal from DirectTV.
Whereas we would kill for a thunderstorm right about now in Dallas, even though Directv is working perfectly (more or less). August in North Texas! Ugggh!
I did just that Ed ... except it was a glass (or two, or three) of Ron Zacapa Sistema Solera rum and the music was Derek Trucks 'Songlines' DVD.
What race?
Glad you found something to take up the time. Looks like you guys have more nasty weather coming in the next few days.
Perhaps more rum and music will be in order!
Hey Rick, how's that DVD?
That's funnier than a toad eatin' spider.
Rain is good, many parts of the country need rain bad, not us though.
We sure have had our share this summer in the midwest.
The grass has never looked so good! Or had to be cut so often.
No rain here. Wish there was though.
I wish we could schedule the rain. Like 3 hours of steady rain every Monday from 8:30 to 11:30am. Who will make it happen?
That reminds me of southern Florida when I visited there years ago. We got thunder showers every day between 3:30 pm and 5:00 pm.
Water your lawn and wash your car. It makes the rain come.
Or maybe a neighborhood rain dance and sacrifice.
We've had our fair share, that's for sure.
Water your lawn and wash your car. It makes the rain come.
Painting your garage doors or windows will ensure some precipitation. If you use waterbased paint, it will rain harder.
There's nothing like that running mascara look on a house.
"Why is that house crying, mommy?"
"Why is that house crying, mommy?"
Because there are no Axioms in it, sweety!
I was planning to switch to DirectTV from cable. You loose the signal when it's raining??? Hell, where I live, about the only time it isn't raining is when it's snowing.
My home weather station recorded 13.7mm of rain yesterday. We needed it.
It doesn't happen whenever it rains. Only when severe storm clouds are in between you and the sat signal. I live on the New Eng. coast and it goes out maybe 6 times a year for a few minutes or an hour or so.
We're still glad we dumped cable, though the cost was comparatively less (to cable) when we first got it 6 years ago.
But then I have no idea where exactly "Upper Yonder" is.
Seems like ours is out quite a lot, but of course it storms a lot in south Florida also.
It takes a pretty good storm here to take the DirectTV out.
As far up yonder as you get in the U.S. of A.
More rain last night, some areas 2-3 inches, and the flooding continues.
We sure could use some of that rain one state down in Missouri. The forecast is for isolated thunder storms.
Well the gravity should pull the water down from Iowa to Missouri, right? At least it worked that way when I sprinkled water onto my wall map.
As far up yonder as you get in the U.S. of A.
but not really IN the U.S of A.
