I'm considering doing some email marketing locally with what I assume is an HTML-based, newsletter-style mailing like the one below.

Googling and checking, for instance, Adobe's site, is not helping me to determine if there is software out there that would let me create something like the sample below in a graphical, WYSIWYG, desktop publishing-like way. It kind of seems like Dreamweaver might be a good product for me because of interaction with the rest of my Adobe products, but I don't know if my needs are actually simple and there isn't a different, simple, low-cost software package to do this.

Anyone have knowledge of this class of product?

Mark, have you checked out mailchimp.com? It lets you design your html newsletters, send your newsletters using their servers, manage your contacts, and keep statistics on who clicks what. It's free, too, unless you have more than 1,000 contacts.

If you'd rather do things yourself, you could use the CoffeeCup HTML Editor. It's $49 with a free trial. I've never used it but I've seen it recommended as a Dreamweaver alternative.

I have a hard time framing Dreamweaver as easy to use, but a lot of people like it.

I'm checking into Peter's suggestions... thanks Peter!

Ken, I guess I really DO need something simple because I've never been good with web stuff...as you guys know. I would love zero coding.... just lay it all out as you would in a desktop publisher and, in effect, "print to web" when you're done!

I always try to do everything perfectly, then it doesn't get done! So simpler is better! smile

I think Dreamweaver is the standard of the industry. You might have to just go ahead and decide you're going to be a web developer since you're a perfectionist anyway.

I used Nvu for a while, but I don't really enjoy that kind of work. It seemed like a good enough free tool.

Seamonkey seems to get some love. Might try that.

Seamonkey? MailChimp?

What's with the Ape family of software? smile

There's a reason I didn't mention AustralopitheMail...

MailChimp is looking fantastic! Thanks for the suggestion, Peter!

No problem, Mark. Craving a banana yet?

Banana? No....

But if we sit next to each other at the next Axiom get together, I might start grooming you.
