Why were they listed in the factory outlet and never listed in the our products section?

My guess is that the FO units may have some early design flaws.
Perhaps someone whacked them a bit too hard with the ol hammer.

If that's the case, what happened to those that weren't whacked too hard?

The FMBs in the outlet are the first-run prototypes. We're adding a few extras to the official brackets, which will be out early next month. They'll be on the product page then. We're using the prototypes throughout the house in the new setup, and they're great! Even the VP150, which has to be mounted off-center because of the input, is level and very solid.

Greetings,

Maybe that should be a design change in the VP150. Move the input slighly off center to accommodate the full metal bracket.

Just a thought.

Can the QS8 bracket be attached directly to the full metal bracket? Or would I need to drill new holes on the QS8 bracket? I'd prefer not to drill the QS8 cabinet.

OR...will the production version of the Full Metal bracket be better?

How many inches away from the wall does the FMB place the speaker? Are there any photos of it with speakers attached? What are the changes that will be made to the official ones? Will you add another swivel to the end?

One of my QS8 is above a window. I think is is a bit too close to the ceiling and my wife wants to put a curtain rod where it currently is mounted.

I am sure I could get rid of the curtain rod idea, however, it will make the room darker for tv viewing. I am looking for a way to get the QS8 to mount in front and just below the top of the curtain rod.

Any help?

I can't think of a way to attach the QS8 bracket to the FMB, but I'm no engineer ;-)

The current production run of the surrounds has a bolt in place so you don't have to drill into the cabinet yourself; however, as long as you only drill once, the holes always stay filled so you aren't compromising the speaker at all.

Our speakers are sitting about 3" out from the wall on their Full Metal Brackets. This is the Full Metal Bracket page. No pics, just cadcam drawings. The bracket swivels on three axes right now. So if it was the same distance, you could mount the FMB to the ceiling and have it hanging in front of the curtain rod, or you could have the QS8 pushed in front of the curtain rod by 3 inches from the wall. What a terrible explanation. Does it help?

Amie,

That didn't help so much. I will just buy one and see what it looks like. I think I will be able to figure something out with it, otherwize, I will return it.

Amie,
Do your select speakers come with the bracket or is this purchased seperatly?

Here's an idea...

why not make a second bracket so that speaker like the surrounds can be ceiling mounted with a correct distance from the cieling, or can these bracket be used for ex: qs8's cieling mounted

Do you know how long people have been waiting for this full metal bracket to come out? I think a second one would be a ways off down the road.

Seems to me that would be a pretty large or long bracket. Pulling this thread along a slight tangent, this is another reason why filling your listening room with jello is a good idea: You get complete freedom in speaker placement!

It'd have to be pretty stiff jello for that to work. I mean, Jello pudding wouldn't do it; they'd sink!
