Don't worry, it's a happy ending.

This is my sisters dog Dane, he's a great dog, but grace isn't his strong suit. He's rough and tumble and that seems to get him in quite a bit of trouble. He was running back to the house from out in the field, thought he'd muscle his way through a metal fence, and found out steel is stronger than flesh...

... and here he is a few days later all stitched up and ready to go :

poor dog, sorry didn't watch the vids, pics were enough, hope he is feeling better soon, pain killers oh yeah
Yikes!

Glad it ended well, Micah.
I think that dog has built in pain killers. He never once acted like anything was bothering him. When he first plowed through the fence he immediately threw his head back and started snapping behind him, towards his tail as if fending off an attacker. So at least we know he has a sense of touch.

But besides that, he never once wimpered, yelped, or otherwise cried out at all through out the entire ordeal. He's made outa tougher stuff than I am. I almost wanted to cry just looking at that gaping wound! He's one lucky SOB though, out in the wild an injury like that would have surely gotten infected and killed him. And some pet owners would never have paid the $750 dollar vet bill it took to fix him up. They would have either tried to patch it up themselves and failed misserably. Or just put the animal down on the spot.

But my sister and I drove Dane straight to the vet and when the nurse gave her the estimate she never hesitated, she just said, "ok, do it"!

Who says cats are the only one with 9 lives?
Ha ha, a cat would've went OVER the fence!

Yep, but Dane ain't no pussy!

lol
Awesome doggie!
Very glad he is OK.
Pretty sure dogs do feel pain but they do seem to have a very sensible attitude about it after the fact.
I've accidentally stepped on my dog's foot often enough to know that she feels pain. shocked

Glad to hear the dog is going to be fine. That looked quite nasty.
Peter, apparently Sunny will have to learn to pull her paws in whenever you're walking in the area.

Or finally say, "Your apologies mean nothing to me anymore."
This being Danes third injury prone visit to the vet, I'm beginning to think he just likes the drugs!
