I broke down and bought another Sony product last week because this simply solved all my problems. Those being.

a.) My 2001 truck's deck is ancient and creates distortion at low volumes and even with the new speakers. (Note: There is a cassette deck under the CD. GASP!)

b.) There was no auxiliary (or even rear) input to hook up an MP3 player and after years of streaming and a Squeezebox in my home, I can no longer tolerate storing and swapping a bunch of CDs.

c.) FM transmitters will not seem to function in my truck no matter where you put them.

d.) I was hesitant to buy an new deck with Ipod player support because I didn't want the player rattling around and all the MP3 player holders I have seen to date all quickly get loose, spinny, droopy or just plain get in the way of a stick shift.

Then....I saw this. I resisted the urge to buy it right away. I Went home and researched the specs and also the limited reviews I could find seemed favorable. It's not installed yet. Hopefully this week some time.

Someone else's home made video but it shows you the feature that sold me on it at the beginning of the clip instead of waiting 2-5 minutes to the end of other videos.

Nice. In my 2007 FJ Cruiser, I bought an iPod controller that allowed me to use the stock head unit w/ an iPod and use the steering wheel controls. It was about $100

That was great until I got tired of listening to my iPod, even though it was full of 80 GB of music.

I then got a sturdy phone mount for my iPhone, similar to this.

Works great because it fits both my blackberry and iPhone. Similar to this, it mounts on the stock bolts in the car so no drilling and it's solid. Now I never even use the iPod functionality on my iPhone except for podcasts. I use Pandora and now Spotify (AWESOME) in the car.
* Does not play CDs.

Looks cool. Does it have a connector for devides other than the Ipod? Of courese, I would be forever forgetting my phone in the head unit...
That is pretty cool, I could leave one of my kids old iPods in the deck and not worry about forgeting my own.
Nope. It does not play CDs. However, I have not changed the two dusty CDs in my truck since I bought it because I tent to store them all away as soon as I rip them to my PC and I'm too lazy and forgetful to go to the closet and flip through them all to change up my truck stock.

There is a second USB in the front that you can plug in another MP3 player or a thumb drive.

You can still go all old school though Fred and use the radio.
Looks like they just added Pandora control via smart-phones to the very newest models. Mine will not have it, but then again we can't get it in Canada. Not easily anyways and I doubt a proxy would work on an iPod or smartphone so no loss for me. To bad though, I would have loved in dash control of Pandora in my car.
